Methodology & sources
Draft · September 2026
What Rasulullah.org is — and is not
Rasulullah.org is an independent platform that helps people find relevant guidance from the Qur'an, the authentic Sunnah and the Seerah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and turn it into small, practical actions. It is not a fatwa authority and does not speak on behalf of any government, mosque or institution.
Sources first
- Qur'anic Arabic is shown exactly as provided by its source, with surah and ayah, and is never altered. Every verse is checked against its recorded checksum before it is shown; if a check fails, we show nothing rather than risk showing the wrong text.
- A source is published only after its licence has been verified. Content awaiting scholar review is not shown to the public.
- Translations are attributed translations from verified sources. We never machine-translate religious source text.
- Hadith are shown with collection, reference number and grading, including who graded them. Where no grading is available we say so.
- Seerah entries are written by editors, cite their sources, and are reviewed before publication. Uncertain details are marked as uncertain — gaps are never filled with invented detail.
- Examples from the Sahaba are shown only when sufficiently sourced.
Trust levels
- Level A — the Qur'an.
- Level B — authenticated hadith collections and verified hadith data.
- Level C — established Seerah references reviewed by scholars.
- Level D — approved contemporary scholars, used with permission.
- Level E — editorial interpretation.
How AI is used
AI helps organise reviewed evidence and suggest practical applications. It does not choose what counts as a source, and it never writes Qur'an, hadith or dua text — those are always displayed from our verified records. Anything AI-assisted is labelled as an application, clearly separated from the sources, and is never presented as revelation, a fatwa or as what the Prophet ﷺ “would have done”.
If reliable evidence for part of a question is not available, we say so instead of guessing.
Questions of fiqh
For questions about rulings in your specific situation — business, loans, marriage, divorce, zakat and similar — we present established principles and sources, note where scholars differ, and recommend consulting a qualified scholar.
When you need more than guidance
Spiritual guidance does not replace emergency, medical, psychological or legal help. If you or someone else is in danger, contact local emergency services immediately.
Corrections
Every card has a “Report an issue” option. Reviewed corrections are applied everywhere the source appears, and every change is recorded in our version history.
