Al-Hijr · 15:30

In context

1. وَٱلۡجَآنَّ خَلَقۡنَٰهُ مِن قَبۡلُ مِن نَّارِ ٱلسَّمُومِ

   15:27And the jinn We created before from scorching fire

2. وَإِذۡ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ إِنِّي خَٰلِقُۢ بَشَرٗا مِّن صَلۡصَٰلٖ مِّنۡ حَمَإٖ مَّسۡنُونٖ

   15:28And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "I will create a human being out of clay from an altered black mud

3. فَإِذَا سَوَّيۡتُهُۥ وَنَفَخۡتُ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِي فَقَعُواْ لَهُۥ سَٰجِدِينَ

   15:29And when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration

4. فَسَجَدَ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ كُلُّهُمۡ أَجۡمَعُونَ

   15:30So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely

5. إِلَّآ إِبۡلِيسَ أَبَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ

   15:31Except Iblees, he refused to be with those who prostrated

6. قَالَ يَـٰٓإِبۡلِيسُ مَا لَكَ أَلَّا تَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ

   15:32[Allah] said, O Iblees, what is [the matter] with you that you are not with those who prostrate

7. قَالَ لَمۡ أَكُن لِّأَسۡجُدَ لِبَشَرٍ خَلَقۡتَهُۥ مِن صَلۡصَٰلٖ مِّنۡ حَمَإٖ مَّسۡنُونٖ

   15:33He said, "Never would I prostrate to a human whom You created out of clay from an altered black mud
