Al-Hijr · 15:77

In context

1. فَجَعَلۡنَا عَٰلِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمۡطَرۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ حِجَارَةٗ مِّن سِجِّيلٍ

   15:74And We made the highest part [of the city] its lowest and rained upon them stones of hard clay

2. إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّلۡمُتَوَسِّمِينَ

   15:75Indeed in that are signs for those who discern

3. وَإِنَّهَا لَبِسَبِيلٖ مُّقِيمٍ

   15:76And indeed, those cities are [situated] on an established road

4. إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗ لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ

   15:77Indeed in that is a sign for the believers

5. وَإِن كَانَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡأَيۡكَةِ لَظَٰلِمِينَ

   15:78And the companions of the thicket were [also] wrongdoers

6. فَٱنتَقَمۡنَا مِنۡهُمۡ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَبِإِمَامٖ مُّبِينٖ

   15:79So We took retribution from them, and indeed, both [cities] are on a clear highway

7. وَلَقَدۡ كَذَّبَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡحِجۡرِ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ

   15:80And certainly did the companions of Thamud deny the messengers
