Al-Hijr · 15:80

In context

1. إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗ لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ

   15:77Indeed in that is a sign for the believers

2. وَإِن كَانَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡأَيۡكَةِ لَظَٰلِمِينَ

   15:78And the companions of the thicket were [also] wrongdoers

3. فَٱنتَقَمۡنَا مِنۡهُمۡ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَبِإِمَامٖ مُّبِينٖ

   15:79So We took retribution from them, and indeed, both [cities] are on a clear highway

4. وَلَقَدۡ كَذَّبَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡحِجۡرِ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ

   15:80And certainly did the companions of Thamud deny the messengers

5. وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُمۡ ءَايَٰتِنَا فَكَانُواْ عَنۡهَا مُعۡرِضِينَ

   15:81And We gave them Our signs, but from them they were turning away

6. وَكَانُواْ يَنۡحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا ءَامِنِينَ

   15:82And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure

7. فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلصَّيۡحَةُ مُصۡبِحِينَ

   15:83But the shriek seized them at early morning
