Ash-Shu'ara · 26:127

In context

1. إِذۡ قَالَ لَهُمۡ أَخُوهُمۡ هُودٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ

   26:124When their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear Allah

2. إِنِّي لَكُمۡ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٞ

   26:125Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger

3. فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

   26:126So fear Allah and obey me

4. وَمَآ أَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۡ أَجۡرٍۖ إِنۡ أَجۡرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

   26:127And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds

5. أَتَبۡنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ ءَايَةٗ تَعۡبَثُونَ

   26:128Do you construct on every elevation a sign, amusing yourselves

6. وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَخۡلُدُونَ

   26:129And take for yourselves palaces and fortresses that you might abide eternally

7. وَإِذَا بَطَشۡتُم بَطَشۡتُمۡ جَبَّارِينَ

   26:130And when you strike, you strike as tyrants
