Ash-Shu'ara · 26:199

In context

1. وَإِنَّهُۥ لَفِي زُبُرِ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ

   26:196And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples

2. أَوَلَمۡ يَكُن لَّهُمۡ ءَايَةً أَن يَعۡلَمَهُۥ عُلَمَـٰٓؤُاْ بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَـٰٓءِيلَ

   26:197And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel

3. وَلَوۡ نَزَّلۡنَٰهُ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضِ ٱلۡأَعۡجَمِينَ

   26:198And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreigners

4. فَقَرَأَهُۥ عَلَيۡهِم مَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ مُؤۡمِنِينَ

   26:199And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it

5. كَذَٰلِكَ سَلَكۡنَٰهُ فِي قُلُوبِ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ

   26:200Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals

6. لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُاْ ٱلۡعَذَابَ ٱلۡأَلِيمَ

   26:201They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment

7. فَيَأۡتِيَهُم بَغۡتَةٗ وَهُمۡ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ

   26:202And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not
