Ash-Shu'ara · 26:201

In context

1. وَلَوۡ نَزَّلۡنَٰهُ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضِ ٱلۡأَعۡجَمِينَ

   26:198And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreigners

2. فَقَرَأَهُۥ عَلَيۡهِم مَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ مُؤۡمِنِينَ

   26:199And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it

3. كَذَٰلِكَ سَلَكۡنَٰهُ فِي قُلُوبِ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ

   26:200Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals

4. لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُاْ ٱلۡعَذَابَ ٱلۡأَلِيمَ

   26:201They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment

5. فَيَأۡتِيَهُم بَغۡتَةٗ وَهُمۡ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ

   26:202And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not

6. فَيَقُولُواْ هَلۡ نَحۡنُ مُنظَرُونَ

   26:203And they will say, "May we be reprieved

7. أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسۡتَعۡجِلُونَ

   26:204So for Our punishment are they impatient
