In context

1. ٱتَّبِعُواْ مَن لَّا يَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ أَجۡرٗا وَهُم مُّهۡتَدُونَ

   36:21Follow those who do not ask of you [any] payment, and they are [rightly] guided

2. وَمَالِيَ لَآ أَعۡبُدُ ٱلَّذِي فَطَرَنِي وَإِلَيۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ

   36:22And why should I not worship He who created me and to whom you will be returned

3. ءَأَتَّخِذُ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ ءَالِهَةً إِن يُرِدۡنِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ بِضُرّٖ لَّا تُغۡنِ عَنِّي شَفَٰعَتُهُمۡ شَيۡـٔٗا وَلَا يُنقِذُونِ

   36:23Should I take other than Him [false] deities [while], if the Most Merciful intends for me some adversity, their intercession will not avail me at all, nor can they save me

4. إِنِّيٓ إِذٗا لَّفِي ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٍ

   36:24Indeed, I would then be in manifest error

5. إِنِّيٓ ءَامَنتُ بِرَبِّكُمۡ فَٱسۡمَعُونِ

   36:25Indeed, I have believed in your Lord, so listen to me

6. قِيلَ ٱدۡخُلِ ٱلۡجَنَّةَۖ قَالَ يَٰلَيۡتَ قَوۡمِي يَعۡلَمُونَ

   36:26It was said, "Enter Paradise." He said, "I wish my people could know

7. بِمَا غَفَرَ لِي رَبِّي وَجَعَلَنِي مِنَ ٱلۡمُكۡرَمِينَ

   36:27Of how my Lord has forgiven me and placed me among the honored
