As-Saffat · 37:144

In context

1. فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُدۡحَضِينَ

   37:141And he drew lots and was among the losers

2. فَٱلۡتَقَمَهُ ٱلۡحُوتُ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٞ

   37:142Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy

3. فَلَوۡلَآ أَنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُسَبِّحِينَ

   37:143And had he not been of those who exalt Allah

4. لَلَبِثَ فِي بَطۡنِهِۦٓ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ يُبۡعَثُونَ

   37:144He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected

5. ۞فَنَبَذۡنَٰهُ بِٱلۡعَرَآءِ وَهُوَ سَقِيمٞ

   37:145But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill

6. وَأَنۢبَتۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ شَجَرَةٗ مِّن يَقۡطِينٖ

   37:146And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine

7. وَأَرۡسَلۡنَٰهُ إِلَىٰ مِاْئَةِ أَلۡفٍ أَوۡ يَزِيدُونَ

   37:147And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more
