As-Saffat · 37:147

In context

1. لَلَبِثَ فِي بَطۡنِهِۦٓ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ يُبۡعَثُونَ

   37:144He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected

2. ۞فَنَبَذۡنَٰهُ بِٱلۡعَرَآءِ وَهُوَ سَقِيمٞ

   37:145But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill

3. وَأَنۢبَتۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ شَجَرَةٗ مِّن يَقۡطِينٖ

   37:146And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine

4. وَأَرۡسَلۡنَٰهُ إِلَىٰ مِاْئَةِ أَلۡفٍ أَوۡ يَزِيدُونَ

   37:147And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more

5. فَـَٔامَنُواْ فَمَتَّعۡنَٰهُمۡ إِلَىٰ حِينٖ

   37:148And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time

6. فَٱسۡتَفۡتِهِمۡ أَلِرَبِّكَ ٱلۡبَنَاتُ وَلَهُمُ ٱلۡبَنُونَ

   37:149So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons

7. أَمۡ خَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ إِنَٰثٗا وَهُمۡ شَٰهِدُونَ

   37:150Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses
