In context

1. إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَفۡعَلُ بِٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ

   37:34Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals

2. إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوٓاْ إِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمۡ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ يَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ

   37:35Indeed they, when it was said to them, "There is no deity but Allah," were arrogant

3. وَيَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَتَارِكُوٓاْ ءَالِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرٖ مَّجۡنُونِۭ

   37:36And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet

4. بَلۡ جَآءَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَصَدَّقَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ

   37:37Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers

5. إِنَّكُمۡ لَذَآئِقُواْ ٱلۡعَذَابِ ٱلۡأَلِيمِ

   37:38Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment

6. وَمَا تُجۡزَوۡنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ

   37:39And you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do

7. إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ

   37:40But not the chosen servants of Allah
