Az-Zukhruf · 43:5

In context

1. وَٱلۡكِتَٰبِ ٱلۡمُبِينِ

   43:2By the clear Book

2. إِنَّا جَعَلۡنَٰهُ قُرۡءَٰنًا عَرَبِيّٗا لَّعَلَّكُمۡ تَعۡقِلُونَ

   43:3Indeed, We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that you might understand

3. وَإِنَّهُۥ فِيٓ أُمِّ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ لَدَيۡنَا لَعَلِيٌّ حَكِيمٌ

   43:4And indeed it is, in the Mother of the Book with Us, exalted and full of wisdom

4. أَفَنَضۡرِبُ عَنكُمُ ٱلذِّكۡرَ صَفۡحًا أَن كُنتُمۡ قَوۡمٗا مُّسۡرِفِينَ

   43:5Then should We turn the message away, disregarding you, because you are a transgressing people

5. وَكَمۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن نَّبِيّٖ فِي ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ

   43:6And how many a prophet We sent among the former peoples

6. وَمَا يَأۡتِيهِم مِّن نَّبِيٍّ إِلَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ

   43:7But there would not come to them a prophet except that they used to ridicule him

7. فَأَهۡلَكۡنَآ أَشَدَّ مِنۡهُم بَطۡشٗا وَمَضَىٰ مَثَلُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ

   43:8And We destroyed greater than them in [striking] power, and the example of the former peoples has preceded
