Adh-Dhariyat · 51:31

In context

1. فَأَوۡجَسَ مِنۡهُمۡ خِيفَةٗۖ قَالُواْ لَا تَخَفۡۖ وَبَشَّرُوهُ بِغُلَٰمٍ عَلِيمٖ

   51:28And he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy

2. فَأَقۡبَلَتِ ٱمۡرَأَتُهُۥ فِي صَرَّةٖ فَصَكَّتۡ وَجۡهَهَا وَقَالَتۡ عَجُوزٌ عَقِيمٞ

   51:29And his wife approached with a cry [of alarm] and struck her face and said, "[I am] a barren old woman

3. قَالُواْ كَذَٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ

   51:30They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing

4. ۞قَالَ فَمَا خَطۡبُكُمۡ أَيُّهَا ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ

   51:31[Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers

5. قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّآ أُرۡسِلۡنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوۡمٖ مُّجۡرِمِينَ

   51:32They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals

6. لِنُرۡسِلَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ حِجَارَةٗ مِّن طِينٖ

   51:33To send down upon them stones of clay

7. مُّسَوَّمَةً عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلۡمُسۡرِفِينَ

   51:34Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors
