An-Najm · 53:19

In context

1. إِذۡ يَغۡشَى ٱلسِّدۡرَةَ مَا يَغۡشَىٰ

   53:16When there covered the Lote Tree that which covered [it]

2. مَا زَاغَ ٱلۡبَصَرُ وَمَا طَغَىٰ

   53:17The sight [of the Prophet] did not swerve, nor did it transgress [its limit]

3. لَقَدۡ رَأَىٰ مِنۡ ءَايَٰتِ رَبِّهِ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰٓ

   53:18He certainly saw of the greatest signs of his Lord

4. أَفَرَءَيۡتُمُ ٱللَّـٰتَ وَٱلۡعُزَّىٰ

   53:19So have you considered al-Lat and al-'Uzza

5. وَمَنَوٰةَ ٱلثَّالِثَةَ ٱلۡأُخۡرَىٰٓ

   53:20And Manat, the third - the other one

6. أَلَكُمُ ٱلذَّكَرُ وَلَهُ ٱلۡأُنثَىٰ

   53:21Is the male for you and for Him the female

7. تِلۡكَ إِذٗا قِسۡمَةٞ ضِيزَىٰٓ

   53:22That, then, is an unjust division
