In context

1. وَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ

   54:17And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember

2. كَذَّبَتۡ عَادٞ فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ

   54:18Aad denied; and how [severe] were My punishment and warning

3. إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ رِيحٗا صَرۡصَرٗا فِي يَوۡمِ نَحۡسٖ مُّسۡتَمِرّٖ

   54:19Indeed, We sent upon them a screaming wind on a day of continuous misfortune

4. تَنزِعُ ٱلنَّاسَ كَأَنَّهُمۡ أَعۡجَازُ نَخۡلٖ مُّنقَعِرٖ

   54:20Extracting the people as if they were trunks of palm trees uprooted

5. فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ

   54:21And how [severe] were My punishment and warning

6. وَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ

   54:22And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember

7. كَذَّبَتۡ ثَمُودُ بِٱلنُّذُرِ

   54:23Thamud denied the warning
