Al-Qamar · 54:22

In context

1. إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ رِيحٗا صَرۡصَرٗا فِي يَوۡمِ نَحۡسٖ مُّسۡتَمِرّٖ

   54:19Indeed, We sent upon them a screaming wind on a day of continuous misfortune

2. تَنزِعُ ٱلنَّاسَ كَأَنَّهُمۡ أَعۡجَازُ نَخۡلٖ مُّنقَعِرٖ

   54:20Extracting the people as if they were trunks of palm trees uprooted

3. فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ

   54:21And how [severe] were My punishment and warning

4. وَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ

   54:22And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember

5. كَذَّبَتۡ ثَمُودُ بِٱلنُّذُرِ

   54:23Thamud denied the warning

6. فَقَالُوٓاْ أَبَشَرٗا مِّنَّا وَٰحِدٗا نَّتَّبِعُهُۥٓ إِنَّآ إِذٗا لَّفِي ضَلَٰلٖ وَسُعُرٍ

   54:24And said, "Is it one human being among us that we should follow? Indeed, we would then be in error and madness

7. أَءُلۡقِيَ ٱلذِّكۡرُ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۢ بَيۡنِنَا بَلۡ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ أَشِرٞ

   54:25Has the message been sent down upon him from among us? Rather, he is an insolent liar
