Al-Qamar · 54:5

In context

1. وَإِن يَرَوۡاْ ءَايَةٗ يُعۡرِضُواْ وَيَقُولُواْ سِحۡرٞ مُّسۡتَمِرّٞ

   54:2And if they see a miracle, they turn away and say, "Passing magic

2. وَكَذَّبُواْ وَٱتَّبَعُوٓاْ أَهۡوَآءَهُمۡۚ وَكُلُّ أَمۡرٖ مُّسۡتَقِرّٞ

   54:3And they denied and followed their inclinations. But for every matter is a [time of] settlement

3. وَلَقَدۡ جَآءَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَنۢبَآءِ مَا فِيهِ مُزۡدَجَرٌ

   54:4And there has already come to them of information that in which there is deterrence

4. حِكۡمَةُۢ بَٰلِغَةٞۖ فَمَا تُغۡنِ ٱلنُّذُرُ

   54:5Extensive wisdom - but warning does not avail [them]

5. فَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡۘ يَوۡمَ يَدۡعُ ٱلدَّاعِ إِلَىٰ شَيۡءٖ نُّكُرٍ

   54:6So leave them, [O Muhammad]. The Day the Caller calls to something forbidding

6. خُشَّعًا أَبۡصَٰرُهُمۡ يَخۡرُجُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡأَجۡدَاثِ كَأَنَّهُمۡ جَرَادٞ مُّنتَشِرٞ

   54:7Their eyes humbled, they will emerge from the graves as if they were locusts spreading

7. مُّهۡطِعِينَ إِلَى ٱلدَّاعِۖ يَقُولُ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ هَٰذَا يَوۡمٌ عَسِرٞ

   54:8Racing ahead toward the Caller. The disbelievers will say, "This is a difficult Day
