Al-Waqi'ah · 56:44

In context

1. وَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ

   56:41And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left

2. فِي سَمُومٖ وَحَمِيمٖ

   56:42[They will be] in scorching fire and scalding water

3. وَظِلّٖ مِّن يَحۡمُومٖ

   56:43And a shade of black smoke

4. لَّا بَارِدٖ وَلَا كَرِيمٍ

   56:44Neither cool nor beneficial

5. إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَبۡلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتۡرَفِينَ

   56:45Indeed they were, before that, indulging in affluence

6. وَكَانُواْ يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى ٱلۡحِنثِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ

   56:46And they used to persist in the great violation

7. وَكَانُواْ يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابٗا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبۡعُوثُونَ

   56:47And they used to say, "When we die and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected
