Al-Waqi'ah · 56:48

In context

1. إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَبۡلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتۡرَفِينَ

   56:45Indeed they were, before that, indulging in affluence

2. وَكَانُواْ يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى ٱلۡحِنثِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ

   56:46And they used to persist in the great violation

3. وَكَانُواْ يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابٗا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبۡعُوثُونَ

   56:47And they used to say, "When we die and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected

4. أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَ

   56:48And our forefathers [as well]

5. قُلۡ إِنَّ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ وَٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ

   56:49Say, [O Muhammad], "Indeed, the former and the later peoples

6. لَمَجۡمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَٰتِ يَوۡمٖ مَّعۡلُومٖ

   56:50Are to be gathered together for the appointment of a known Day

7. ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمۡ أَيُّهَا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبُونَ

   56:51Then indeed you, O those astray [who are] deniers
