Al-Qalam · 68:25

In context

1. أَنِ ٱغۡدُواْ عَلَىٰ حَرۡثِكُمۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰرِمِينَ

   68:22[Saying], "Go early to your crop if you would cut the fruit

2. فَٱنطَلَقُواْ وَهُمۡ يَتَخَٰفَتُونَ

   68:23So they set out, while lowering their voices

3. أَن لَّا يَدۡخُلَنَّهَا ٱلۡيَوۡمَ عَلَيۡكُم مِّسۡكِينٞ

   68:24[Saying], "There will surely not enter it today upon you [any] poor person

4. وَغَدَوۡاْ عَلَىٰ حَرۡدٖ قَٰدِرِينَ

   68:25And they went early in determination, [assuming themselves] able

5. فَلَمَّا رَأَوۡهَا قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا لَضَآلُّونَ

   68:26But when they saw it, they said, "Indeed, we are lost

6. بَلۡ نَحۡنُ مَحۡرُومُونَ

   68:27Rather, we have been deprived

7. قَالَ أَوۡسَطُهُمۡ أَلَمۡ أَقُل لَّكُمۡ لَوۡلَا تُسَبِّحُونَ

   68:28The most moderate of them said, "Did I not say to you, 'Why do you not exalt [Allah]
