Nuh · 71:20

In context

1. وَٱللَّهُ أَنۢبَتَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ نَبَاتٗا

   71:17And Allah has caused you to grow from the earth a [progressive] growth

2. ثُمَّ يُعِيدُكُمۡ فِيهَا وَيُخۡرِجُكُمۡ إِخۡرَاجٗا

   71:18Then He will return you into it and extract you [another] extraction

3. وَٱللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ بِسَاطٗا

   71:19And Allah has made for you the earth an expanse

4. لِّتَسۡلُكُواْ مِنۡهَا سُبُلٗا فِجَاجٗا

   71:20That you may follow therein roads of passage

5. قَالَ نُوحٞ رَّبِّ إِنَّهُمۡ عَصَوۡنِي وَٱتَّبَعُواْ مَن لَّمۡ يَزِدۡهُ مَالُهُۥ وَوَلَدُهُۥٓ إِلَّا خَسَارٗا

   71:21Noah said, "My Lord, indeed they have disobeyed me and followed him whose wealth and children will not increase him except in loss

6. وَمَكَرُواْ مَكۡرٗا كُبَّارٗا

   71:22And they conspired an immense conspiracy

7. وَقَالُواْ لَا تَذَرُنَّ ءَالِهَتَكُمۡ وَلَا تَذَرُنَّ وَدّٗا وَلَا سُوَاعٗا وَلَا يَغُوثَ وَيَعُوقَ وَنَسۡرٗا

   71:23And said, 'Never leave your gods and never leave Wadd or Suwa' or Yaghuth and Ya'uq and Nasr
