Al-Muzzammil · 73:3

In context

1. يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلۡمُزَّمِّلُ

   73:1O you who wraps himself [in clothing]

2. قُمِ ٱلَّيۡلَ إِلَّا قَلِيلٗا

   73:2Arise [to pray] the night, except for a little

3. نِّصۡفَهُۥٓ أَوِ ٱنقُصۡ مِنۡهُ قَلِيلًا

   73:3Half of it - or subtract from it a little

4. أَوۡ زِدۡ عَلَيۡهِ وَرَتِّلِ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ تَرۡتِيلًا

   73:4Or add to it, and recite the Qur'an with measured recitation

5. إِنَّا سَنُلۡقِي عَلَيۡكَ قَوۡلٗا ثَقِيلًا

   73:5Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy word

6. إِنَّ نَاشِئَةَ ٱلَّيۡلِ هِيَ أَشَدُّ وَطۡـٔٗا وَأَقۡوَمُ قِيلًا

   73:6Indeed, the hours of the night are more effective for concurrence [of heart and tongue] and more suitable for words
