Al-Muddaththir · 74:45

In context

1. مَا سَلَكَكُمۡ فِي سَقَرَ

   74:42[And asking them], "What put you into Saqar

2. قَالُواْ لَمۡ نَكُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُصَلِّينَ

   74:43They will say, "We were not of those who prayed

3. وَلَمۡ نَكُ نُطۡعِمُ ٱلۡمِسۡكِينَ

   74:44Nor did we used to feed the poor

4. وَكُنَّا نَخُوضُ مَعَ ٱلۡخَآئِضِينَ

   74:45And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it]

5. وَكُنَّا نُكَذِّبُ بِيَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِ

   74:46And we used to deny the Day of Recompense

6. حَتَّىٰٓ أَتَىٰنَا ٱلۡيَقِينُ

   74:47Until there came to us the certainty

7. فَمَا تَنفَعُهُمۡ شَفَٰعَةُ ٱلشَّـٰفِعِينَ

   74:48So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors
