Al-Muddaththir · 74:46

In context

1. قَالُواْ لَمۡ نَكُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُصَلِّينَ

   74:43They will say, "We were not of those who prayed

2. وَلَمۡ نَكُ نُطۡعِمُ ٱلۡمِسۡكِينَ

   74:44Nor did we used to feed the poor

3. وَكُنَّا نَخُوضُ مَعَ ٱلۡخَآئِضِينَ

   74:45And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it]

4. وَكُنَّا نُكَذِّبُ بِيَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِ

   74:46And we used to deny the Day of Recompense

5. حَتَّىٰٓ أَتَىٰنَا ٱلۡيَقِينُ

   74:47Until there came to us the certainty

6. فَمَا تَنفَعُهُمۡ شَفَٰعَةُ ٱلشَّـٰفِعِينَ

   74:48So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors

7. فَمَا لَهُمۡ عَنِ ٱلتَّذۡكِرَةِ مُعۡرِضِينَ

   74:49Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away
