Al-Qiyamah · 75:17

In context

1. بَلِ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ عَلَىٰ نَفۡسِهِۦ بَصِيرَةٞ

   75:14Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness

2. وَلَوۡ أَلۡقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُۥ

   75:15Even if he presents his excuses

3. لَا تُحَرِّكۡ بِهِۦ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعۡجَلَ بِهِۦٓ

   75:16Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an

4. إِنَّ عَلَيۡنَا جَمۡعَهُۥ وَقُرۡءَانَهُۥ

   75:17Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation

5. فَإِذَا قَرَأۡنَٰهُ فَٱتَّبِعۡ قُرۡءَانَهُۥ

   75:18So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation

6. ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيۡنَا بَيَانَهُۥ

   75:19Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]

7. كَلَّا بَلۡ تُحِبُّونَ ٱلۡعَاجِلَةَ

   75:20No! But you love the immediate
