Al-Qiyamah · 75:23

In context

1. كَلَّا بَلۡ تُحِبُّونَ ٱلۡعَاجِلَةَ

   75:20No! But you love the immediate

2. وَتَذَرُونَ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةَ

   75:21And leave the Hereafter

3. وُجُوهٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ نَّاضِرَةٌ

   75:22[Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant

4. إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٞ

   75:23Looking at their Lord

5. وَوُجُوهٞ يَوۡمَئِذِۭ بَاسِرَةٞ

   75:24And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted

6. تَظُنُّ أَن يُفۡعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٞ

   75:25Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking

7. كَلَّآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلتَّرَاقِيَ

   75:26No! When the soul has reached the collar bones
