An-Nazi'at · 79:22

In context

1. وَأَهۡدِيَكَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَتَخۡشَىٰ

   79:19And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]

2. فَأَرَىٰهُ ٱلۡأٓيَةَ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰ

   79:20And he showed him the greatest sign

3. فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰ

   79:21But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed

4. ثُمَّ أَدۡبَرَ يَسۡعَىٰ

   79:22Then he turned his back, striving

5. فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰ

   79:23And he gathered [his people] and called out

6. فَقَالَ أَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمُ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰ

   79:24And said, "I am your most exalted lord

7. فَأَخَذَهُ ٱللَّهُ نَكَالَ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ وَٱلۡأُولَىٰٓ

   79:25So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]
