An-Nazi'at · 79:23

In context

1. فَأَرَىٰهُ ٱلۡأٓيَةَ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰ

   79:20And he showed him the greatest sign

2. فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰ

   79:21But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed

3. ثُمَّ أَدۡبَرَ يَسۡعَىٰ

   79:22Then he turned his back, striving

4. فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰ

   79:23And he gathered [his people] and called out

5. فَقَالَ أَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمُ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰ

   79:24And said, "I am your most exalted lord

6. فَأَخَذَهُ ٱللَّهُ نَكَالَ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ وَٱلۡأُولَىٰٓ

   79:25So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]

7. إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبۡرَةٗ لِّمَن يَخۡشَىٰٓ

   79:26Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]
