An-Nazi'at · 79:37

In context

1. فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلطَّآمَّةُ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰ

   79:34But when there comes the greatest Overwhelming Calamity

2. يَوۡمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مَا سَعَىٰ

   79:35The Day when man will remember that for which he strove

3. وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلۡجَحِيمُ لِمَن يَرَىٰ

   79:36And Hellfire will be exposed for [all] those who see

4. فَأَمَّا مَن طَغَىٰ

   79:37So as for he who transgressed

5. وَءَاثَرَ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا

   79:38And preferred the life of the world

6. فَإِنَّ ٱلۡجَحِيمَ هِيَ ٱلۡمَأۡوَىٰ

   79:39Then indeed, Hellfire will be [his] refuge

7. وَأَمَّا مَنۡ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ وَنَهَى ٱلنَّفۡسَ عَنِ ٱلۡهَوَىٰ

   79:40But as for he who feared the position of his Lord and prevented the soul from [unlawful] inclination
