Al-Buruj · 85:6

In context

1. وَشَاهِدٖ وَمَشۡهُودٖ

   85:3And [by] the witness and what is witnessed

2. قُتِلَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡأُخۡدُودِ

   85:4Cursed were the companions of the trench

3. ٱلنَّارِ ذَاتِ ٱلۡوَقُودِ

   85:5[Containing] the fire full of fuel

4. إِذۡ هُمۡ عَلَيۡهَا قُعُودٞ

   85:6When they were sitting near it

5. وَهُمۡ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفۡعَلُونَ بِٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ شُهُودٞ

   85:7And they, to what they were doing against the believers, were witnesses

6. وَمَا نَقَمُواْ مِنۡهُمۡ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤۡمِنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡحَمِيدِ

   85:8And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy

7. ٱلَّذِي لَهُۥ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ شَهِيدٌ

   85:9To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness
