In context

1. وَٱلشَّفۡعِ وَٱلۡوَتۡرِ

   89:3And [by] the even [number] and the odd

2. وَٱلَّيۡلِ إِذَا يَسۡرِ

   89:4And [by] the night when it passes

3. هَلۡ فِي ذَٰلِكَ قَسَمٞ لِّذِي حِجۡرٍ

   89:5Is there [not] in [all] that an oath [sufficient] for one of perception

4. أَلَمۡ تَرَ كَيۡفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍ

   89:6Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with 'Aad

5. إِرَمَ ذَاتِ ٱلۡعِمَادِ

   89:7[With] Iram - who had lofty pillars

6. ٱلَّتِي لَمۡ يُخۡلَقۡ مِثۡلُهَا فِي ٱلۡبِلَٰدِ

   89:8The likes of whom had never been created in the land

7. وَثَمُودَ ٱلَّذِينَ جَابُواْ ٱلصَّخۡرَ بِٱلۡوَادِ

   89:9And [with] Thamud, who carved out the rocks in the valley
