Al-'Alaq · 96:5

In context

1. خَلَقَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ مِنۡ عَلَقٍ

   96:2Created man from a clinging substance

2. ٱقۡرَأۡ وَرَبُّكَ ٱلۡأَكۡرَمُ

   96:3Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous

3. ٱلَّذِي عَلَّمَ بِٱلۡقَلَمِ

   96:4Who taught by the pen

4. عَلَّمَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ مَا لَمۡ يَعۡلَمۡ

   96:5Taught man that which he knew not

5. كَلَّآ إِنَّ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ لَيَطۡغَىٰٓ

   96:6No! [But] indeed, man transgresses

6. أَن رَّءَاهُ ٱسۡتَغۡنَىٰٓ

   96:7Because he sees himself self-sufficient

7. إِنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ٱلرُّجۡعَىٰٓ

   96:8Indeed, to your Lord is the return
